David Thorne is a Partner from Fieldfisher with over 20 years' experience advising clients in relation to the built environment particularly the construction and engineering sector. David's focus is managing and resolving construction project disputes preferably using a collaborative approach to achieve quick and cost effective outcomes without resorting to formal processes. David has extensive experience of acting for clients in formal dispute resolution primarily adjudication, litigation and arbitration. This includes complex multi-party disputes including Blackpool Borough Council v Volkerfitzpatrick Limited [2020] EWHC 1523 (TCC), the litigation associated with Accolades Wines in Avonmouth and the leading UK delay case, Walter Lilly & Co v DMW Developments Ltd [2008] EWHC 3139 (TCC). David has a detailed understanding of construction associated insurance issues and was a contributor to Hogarth's Insurance Law for the Construction Industry.
